Quigley Manufacturing Inc.

On October 1st, 2004, The Quigley Corporation acquired certain assets of JoEl Inc. and has commenced operations under the name, "Quigley Manufacturing Incorporated." Since 1995, JoEl Inc. has successfully manufactured the Cold-Eeze® homeopathic zinc cold remedy lozenge. Within a six-month period, from the fall of 1996, JoEl Inc. successfully completed the national pipeline fill for the product, which experienced the fastest sales increase in the history of the cough/cold lozenge category. The two companies have been working together since to expand the Cold-Eeze® family product line which now includes Kidz-Eeze® Sore Throat Pops and assorted flavors of Cold-Eeze® lozenges.

Facilities

Two facilities of Joel Inc. were acquired. The first facility, Simon Candy is a 17,000 square foot manufacturing plant. Simon Candy manufactures and markets organic hard candy under its College Farm brand name, as well as many varieties of hard candy under Simon Candy brand and various private labels. The second facility, the Pharmaloz division, is a state of the art 56,000 square foot manufacturing plant on a 12-acre lot. Pharmaloz has high-speed automated production capacity in order to meet the demand for Cold-Eeze® lozenges as well as other OTC products that require high-yield manufacturing to exact specifications. Both divisions are located in south central Pennsylvania, which provides easy access to major transportation routes such as Interstate highways making shipping product to any location very efficient.

Quigley Manufacturing Inc. will continue JoEl Inc.’s success in manufacturing OTC products with the need to comply with FDA manufacturing requirements. With over 30 years experience in developing formulations and manufacturing, JoEl Inc. was among the first candy companies to register as a producer of OTC pharmaceuticals with the FDA. Some past accounts include Mylanta®, Robitussin® and Cold-Eeze®, along with national brand equivalent (NBE) private label products for Hall’s®, Sucrets® and Chloraseptic® Lozenges. Quigley Manufacturing Inc. will continue to remain a major manufacturer of pharmaceutical lozenges, private label lozenges and branded hard candy products.
